Pemayantse monastery:
The Pemayantse monastery is having its importance as it is meant for the ‘ta-sang’ lamas (pure monks). It has been designed as the pioneer of Buddhism in Sikkim, Lhatsun Chhembo, Pemayangste which is soon to become the center of the monasteries in Sikkim. Therefore, it is called as the ‘premier monasteries’ of the state.
Sangacholing Monastery:
The monastery situated on the ridge above the Sikkim trekking and the most popular Pemayangtse monastery. To reach the monastery one has to walk the steep hilly slopes which leads to the rich forest area.
Khecheopalri Lake:
The Khecheopalri Lake is considered as the pious lakes of Sikkim by Hindus and Buddhists. The lake is hidden in the forest. It is believed that the birds do not permit any single leaf to float on the surface of the lake.
Journey for Sikkim Trekking:
By Air: The nearest airport from Sikkim trekking is the Bagdogra airport.
By Railways: The trains generally comes from either New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri. The visitors may also proceed for Sikkim trekking by ‘toy train’ or bus or taxi, limo van or land rover for the trekking in Sikkim.
By Roadways: Trekking in Sikkim is linked with weather metaled road with Siliguri, Kalimpong and Gangtok.
