An Insight Into The Splendor Of The South Itinerary

Splendor of the South offers guests one of the most enchanting ways of traversing across the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. On the first day of the tour, passengers aboard the Splendor of the South will travel from – Bangalore – Chennai. On the 3rd day of the journey, guests will arrive in Pondicherry, a once French colony that has still retained several elements of the colonial ways of life.  Attractions one can visit across the cobbled streets of the city include Auroville, and Sri Aurobindo Ashram besides of course feasting on the glorious sights of the French styled mansions housed here. Later you will return to the luxury train, The Golden Chariot, to move ahead towards the next destination – Tiruchirapalli.

Day 4 of this enticing sojourn is categorically reserved for visiting the significant highlights of Tiruchirapalli (also called as Trichy) and Thanjavur.  Rock Fort temple, Mathrubhuteshwar Shrine, and the Ucchi Pillayar temple are  the best attractions of Trichy and Brihadeshwara temple, Alangudi temple,  Chandra Bagawan temple, and the Schwartz Church are the must visit destinations  in Thanjavur.

The last destination in Tamil Nadu, as a part of the Splendor of the South itinerary is Madurai that one can visit on the 5th day of the journey. Throughout the day one can visit attractions such as the Meenakshi temple, the Thirumalai Nayak Palace, and the Thiruparangundram temple.

On the 6th and the 7th day of the itinerary guests aboard this luxury train journey  can take a tour across the marvelous Indian state of Kerala.
